Statement following meeting of partners and stakeholders in the technological higher education sector
The inaugural meeting of the POSITS Forum (Partnership of Stakeholders in the Technological Sector) took place this morning and the partners to the talks are pleased to report a constructive opening with a shared intent to work toward the successful completion of the current academic year in technological higher education institutions, while affording primacy to public health and care for the welfare and safety of our learning communities.
The chair of the Stakeholder Forum, Dr Joseph Ryan, CEO of THEA (Technological Higher Education Association), welcomed the productive discussion and thanked the Department of Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science, Fórsa, the Higher Education Authority, SIPTU, THEA, TU Dublin, TUI, and Unite for the positive engagement. “We set out last summer in a shared commitment to bring about a successful completion to this year for our learners. And while this has been challenging, and demanding of both staff and students, we continue to work cohesively and optimistically to this end and in full accord with the prevailing public health advice.”
