Paraic Mc Quaid is an artist living and working in Dublin, Ireland. He works in sculpture, video, and installation. He has extensive experience working in the area of collaborative arts practice. Paraic lectures in Cultural Policy in the Institute of Art Design and Technology (IADT) Dun Laoghaire. He is a partner in the Horizon 2020 project SoPHIA ‘Social Platform for Holistic Heritage Impact Assessment’ which aims to promote collective reflection within the cultural and political sector in Europe on the impact assessment and quality of interventions in European historical environment and cultural heritage at urban level.

For me, working on the EU Horizon 2020 project SoPHIA has enabled me to develop a great network of colleagues outside of Ireland. What I found most interesting was working with multiple partners from different disciplines. I think this helped drive innovative new approaches. In our case this led to the development of a new model of Impact Assessment for Cultural Heritage.
