Superannuation
Employees of the Technological Sector Institutions who are in pensionable posts are members of one of two main superannuation schemes – The Single Public Service Pension Scheme or the Education Sector Superannuation Scheme.
The Single Public Service Scheme applies to all new entrants to the public service with effect from 1 January 2013. This scheme is a Career-Averaged Defined Benefit Scheme. Full details of the scheme are available from the website: https://singlepensionscheme.gov.ie/
The Education Sector Superannuation Scheme 2015 applies to most other employees in pensionable posts. Details of the membership criteria are set out in the Explanatory Booklet. This is a Final Salary Defined Benefit Scheme. A copy of the Explanatory Booklet can be downloaded here.
