This collaborative and exciting project involves the pairing of students in social care programmes, with design and architecture pedagogy, to explore how they can work together to create a proposed inclusive campus in Wexford that is accessible for everyone, including those with disabilities.

Students from the Professional Social Care course will use the concept of 'My Big Life Fix' in approaching people with disability and ask what 'a day in a life' is like for them. They will then use these reflections to inform what a campus would look like in Wexford that is accessible for people with disability from the point of access, entry to a campus, and the daily life of a student, through the lens of access to education and disability.

These reflections will inform a design and architecture project of a prototype University Campus using the seven principles of universal design: equitable use; flexibility in use; simple and intuitive use; perceptible information; tolerance for error; low physical effort; and appropriate size and space for approach and use.
