Zexiao, an international student from China came to study in Ireland to pursuit her dream of becoming an accountant. Zexiao has shown great resilience over the past year and has adapted to online learning.

“I have overcome the language barrier that online classes present. Thanks to my lecturers who record the lessons, I can go back over the recording and overcome any parts that I don’t understand.

Zexiao is a great international student ambassador for LYIT and the President of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association. She encourages everyone to look after their mental health.

“I sing, play games and interact online with friends to beat loneliness and to keep my mental health in check. I feel that this is very important”.

Zexiao has shown endless resilience studying abroad in Ireland and staying in contact with family and friends in China.

“I miss my family very much and the time difference can be difficult but even if it is just five minutes of Facetime, I talk to them everyday.

Zexiao takes her inspiration from intellectual, elegant and generous women who constantly face challenges and strive to achieve.
