The Media Cube of Innovation
The Media Cube at Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) is an incubation centre which supports emerging start-up companies in the technological, creative and cultural sectors. It has a unique positioning in Ireland as the only incubator on a campus with a focus on the areas of creativity. The Media Cube has access to a pool of creative thinkers, makers and designers within the Institute, and also works with established businesses who are seeking to introduce more innovative processes into their businesses.
Originally established in 2007 with funding from Enterprise Ireland under the National Development Plan, The Media Cube has generated some very successful companies in that time such as ‘Rendition Digital’, ‘World Net TPS’ and 'Your Smile Direct’.
One company which has become very successful and won gold for retail at the National Start-Up Awards is Vitropics. Founded by Donna Ledwidge and Renee O’Shaughnessy, the company creates a nutritional supplement to work with a woman’s monthly cycle. Together they developed the TRIUMPH MONTHLY CYCLE SUPPLEMENT®.
Located within the Media Cube, the company is a High Potential Start Up (HPSU) company with Enterprise Ireland and is currently participating in the New Frontiers programme at IADT.
