The Technological Higher Education Association (THEA) welcomes today’s announcement by the Minister for Education and Skills, Joe McHugh T.D., and the Minister of State for Higher Education, Mary Mitchell O’Connor T.D., of the €13.7m capital allocation towards significant building upgrades in IT Sligo.
Dr Joseph Ryan, CEO, THEA, stated “Set in the context of the central contribution that higher education must make to Project Ireland 2040 and reflecting the history and potential attaching to the excellent creative legacy of the Sligo region, this award represents a recognition of the leading work of IT Sligo in the development of flexible modes of delivery. It will also support the collaborative work of the Connacht Ulster Alliance as it builds towards application for technological university designation.”
