THEA welcomes the Minister’s confirmation this morning of twenty new funded senior academic leadership posts designed to accelerate gender balance at senior positions in Irish higher education institutions. We congratulate those institutions that have had posts approved and look forward to working with our members as we move towards Phase two of this initiative. In particular, I am delighted to congratulate AIT, CIT, IT Carlow and TU Dublin on their success.
Institutions will have taken learning from this round and with many of our member institutions now working to increase capacity in line with the criteria necessary for designation as a Technological University, we anticipate keen engagement with the remaining calls under this SALI initiative.
